They are watching Little House on the Prairie and Father Murphy ...and when I look at the writing, directing, and producing done by the likes of Michael Landon, I would have to say I'd best sit back and watch.
On the other hand, when I see some recent shows like the Bible series, and read reviews about the Noah movie with Russell Crowe ...then perhaps I may like to try my hand at a little consulting.
Speaking of which ...I guess I intend to do a little of that very thing right now.

Many of you have seen the popular Charleston Heston movies ...and can still visualize him holding up that rod or staff, as the Red Sea parts.
I am going to picture Moses after they safely cross over, and the people are profusely complaining about their predicament in the barren desert. We read about Joshua and Caleb scouting the land ...particularly the land they give a favorable report about, stating they can take on the giants that dwell there.
But, this time, I have Joshua and Caleb scouting ahead and reporting back to Moses that there is an oasis ahead.
We read that Moses didn't enter the Promised Land ...that land that was promised to God's people. We know that Moses wandered with the people for 40 years in that barren area ...and we know he wrote down the beginnings of God's Word. It seems he had ample of time to do that.
I imagine Moses recounting the first Chapter of Genesis with the people ...sort of like a bedtime story, then planning to present Chapter two in the morning of the next day as they set out to travel.
I imagine the people had complained about Moses recounting the story of how God created everything for man and woman ...especially since they all felt they now had none of that. Many of them even wished they had never left Egypt, not thinking of the brutal slavery, but recalling the wealth and abundance that was at least around them.
So, I imagine Moses recounts part of the Creation story, as the light of the hot sun begins to bear down on them ...and how secondly God divided the water from the water, similarly having divided the waters of the Red Sea. Moses looks as far as any of them can see, and says, "Before the plants of the field were in the earth ..." As it would be without any plants seen in the desert. "For the Lord God had not caused it to rain ..." Moses picks up a handful of dry desert sand. "And there was not a man to till the ground." Looking around, there is no tilling of ground in this barren place ...and there is no man living here, yet they continue to complain that Moses had led them to where no man could live.
Then, I imagine Moses saying, "But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the face of the ground ...and God planted a garden, ..." Then we imagine that Moses has Joshua and Caleb excitedly run over the small hill, and begin to holler for the people to come see the oasis.
(Now, most of us know what an oasis is in a desert ...but, there is a broader definition which includes emotion, attitude, and perspective. Oasis also means: safety, sustenance; A pleasant change from what is usual, annoying, or difficult. Moses, by God's direction, led the people to safety ...yet, they complained. they were given sustenance when they complained they had nothing to eat, and water when they said they had nothing to drink. The people became impatient and annoyed with Moses ...when things were commonplace or usual, and they became difficult.)

Yes, it would appear fun to be able to be involved with the production of a story ...but, it is sort of annoying to me to think that the artistic license is taken to the extent of gross inaccuracies. There was no oasis, as we commonly refer to it. And to think that some would think we have to create 'rock people' to make the story more interesting.
The thing that is most interesting to me is the truth.
Sure, I like to dream ...and imagine.
And I like to share thoughts.
But, if it's God's Word that I'm sharing ...well, then I'd like to mostly think the truth should be at the center of what is being presented.
